Hi. I’m Ashley. Nice to meet you.

I am a recovering chronic spender who has embraced the title of budgeting babe. I am a storyteller, film photographer, Michigander, wife, and mama to two loco little boys. Some call me reserved, my friends call me goofy. I thrive on routine and deep conversations with one person at a time. I’m not a crowd person (or a morning person). I believe chocolate is good for your soul (so is coffee…and wine). I believe Friday nights spent at home are sacred; tall glass of wine, yoga pants in check. My home is my sanctuary. But sometimes home isn’t a place. Sometimes it’s my people. These are my people. “E” – the wild one

“Owers” – the mild one

They fill my every day with chaos and a wild sense of untamed joy.

Here’s my favorite person with our little people. This handsome, straight-faced hunk is my husband. We’ve been together for 9 years and are high school sweethearts. He is my heart and my home. We’re pretty much living proof that opposites attract and yet I count my lucky stars that out of all the souls in the universe, we picked each other.

Now for a raw truth bomb

This is not where I thought I’d be. I never thought I would want – or even love – being a stay-at-home-parent. I didn’t grow up wanting to be a mommy. And it’s not that I had something different planned, I just didn’t know what to picture. Jetsetter? Powersuit woman? Nope, yoga pants mom with yogurt on her shirt. I love where I am, but now I realize I need to figure out where I am going – where WE are going. So, I started digging. What did I want out of life? What dreams am I keeping way, way down in my heart? I made goals – travel goals, dream house goals, charity goals, personal goals, wellness goals, kids’ college goals. And I realized how much freer we would be if we paid off our debt. It is the ultimate tool to make your own path. I got the hard numbers, numbers that made me cringe. The debt was big and it was ugly. Paying this much debt, we might as well be climbing a mountain. And that’s how we got here. Mountain climbing isn’t just about racing to the top. It’s a journey. A hard, enjoyable one with scenic stops, breaths of crisp air, and stopping for food. It’s a balance. That is what you will find here. Motivation and education to climb your own money mountain as well as inspiration to slow down and enjoy the journey.  Extra things I love:
